How to Have the Best Lunch Meeting Ever 11/15/2011
We at Metroklub know that most of our guests are having very important lunch meetings at our restaurant. We do our best to not disturb what might be very important contract signings, negotiations, or even interviews. But our goal is not to "leave you alone to get your work done." We want you to leave happy not just from a full stomach but also because your client signed the deal, your colleague joined your initiative or your boss agreed to your new project. So we'd like to offer some advice: make the pitch AFTER the food has been served.Research has shown the people are much happier and agreeable after they have eaten. That article talks about judges and parole hearings. After a judge has eaten he or she is much more likely to grant parole than if they have not eaten in several hours. What this means to you is this - if you have an important idea to pitch, say it when the sandwich your client ordered is already in his stomach. And then, maybe buy him dessert. After recovering from the Fast we know you'll be ready to come to the MetroKlub for downtown Chicago's best kosher food. But you should know we will be opening at 1pm this Wednesday. Just like last year we will not be serving meat until after Hatzos which this year is 12:56pm. Our 9 Days Menu is Posted 07/29/2011
The 9 Days is a period of mourning for the Jewish people. The Sages consider meat something that brings joy to a person and therefore during the 9 Days we do not eat meat. Every year the MetroKLub switches over to a parve/fish menu for the 9 Days. The menu is currently posted at the bottom of our homepage (www.metroklub.com). It will be up until we go back to our normal menu. Menu Profile: The BBQ Brisket Sandwich 07/13/2011
Our Brisket is quite possibly the best brisket this side of Rosh Hashanah. The process starts with the meat. We take a whole brisket (over 20 pounds normally) and cut off the fat. Then we slowly braze for two hours in red wine, barbeque sauce, and our secret seasonings. Then we pour on more barbeque sauce and put it in the oven. It cooks in the oven for 3 more hours. We turn it every 20-30 minutes to make sure it cooks evenly, and so that the flavor can seep in. Then the brisket is set down to cool, at it's own pace. After it cools we place it in out walk-in fridge so that any remaining fat can be removed. About 12-18 hours later we take the brisket out and slice it, thinly and against the grain (like all meat should be cut). Then we take the sauce that it cooked in and strain it, and put it in a pot. The sliced brisket is then slowly lowered into that pot full of a brisket sauce and simmers there waiting for a customer to order our beloved BBQ Brisket Sandwich. And then the magic happens. You order that Brisket Sandwich. We pull out a freshly baked potato roll from Tel Aviv Bakery and we slice it open. We pile on the meat until it's overflowing. Then we top it with battered onions and serve it. You take a bite and you're so happy that you can get this awesome kosher food in downtown Chicago and we're even more happy that we can serve you brisket we are proud of. School's out, camp has started, and the MetroKlub is happy to announce the arrival of summer with a brand new dish. The Thai Chicken salad is fresh off the boat from Bangkok and ready to charm its way into your heart. So here are 3 reasons why it will rock your world: 1. Kosher Thai Food in Chicago Kosher Thai food is hard to come by especially "out of town" so when Chef Rolando offered this item as the new summer special we jumped at the chance. We decided against pad thai because we want our customers to have more flexibility with the dish which leads us to number 2. 2. Sandwich or Salad You have the option to have the Thai Chicken Salad as a salad or as a sandwich. In sandwich form is comes on grilled 8-Grain bread with a side of sliced melon or fresh fruit. But we know that sometimes the kosher customer does not want to eat bread so we also offer it in a lighter salad form. As a salad it is served in a hard shell bowl atop shredded iceberg lettuce and slices of melon. 3. Healthy The world of kosher food is full of oily kugels, salads that have more mayo than vegetables, and other food that when eaten regularly will eventually lead to the gastronomical equivalent of depression. At MetroKlub we strive to raise the bar. Our salmon comes whole everyday and we filet it that morning. Our french fries are sliced fresh, not frozen. And we go for quality in every item. The Thai Chicken Salad is no different. Come in and try our newest addition. |
